New York’s Original Jack O’Lantern Event

Over 20 years and more than 2 million visitors….

The Great Jack O’Lantern Blaze began in 2005 on the grounds of Van Cortlandt Manor and has grown to be one of the Hudson Valley’s signature fall experiences and one of the biggest Halloween events in the country. It’s an immersive display of more than seven thousand jack-o-lanterns, all hand-carved on-site by our small team of artists. Each year brings more visitors, bigger ideas, and brighter displays. With themed installations, synchronized lighting, and a custom soundtrack—Blaze transforms thousands of pumpkins into a one-of-a-kind fall spectacle.

Blaze is produced by Historic Hudson Valley, a nonprofit dedicated to education and preservation. Your visit supports programs that bring history to life—at our historic sites, in classrooms, and through digital experiences.

Blaze: Long Island

at Old Bethpage Village Restoration

Blaze brought pumpkin-filled fun to Long Island for four years, set among the historic barns and buildings of this 19th-century village. While Blaze: Long Island has come to an end, we’re grateful to the thousands of visitors who joined us there—and we loved making memories with our fans. Today, fans in the region can visit the original Hudson Valley location or explore seasonal fun at The Rise of the Jack O’Lanterns or Old Bethpage Village Restoration’s Halloween events.
